A Toronto Police officer found a grandfather and his two young grandsons who had been the subject of an Amber Alert. York Regional Police believe it shows the system works, putting extra emphasis on the disappearance of a vulnerable person #missing #police #amberalert #toronto #newmarket #aurora

  1. Subject of an alert 12 hours after they went missing!!!!! An alert at 3 am and not earlier. This should have been issued earlier in the evening or later in the morning. Not at 3 am. There needs to be an opt out system

  3. If a person is awake and able to assist, they’re more than likely looking at their phone every 1-2 minutes. If the rest of the province who is sleeping at 3am, so they can get up at 6 and work their tails off, is it really necessary the blare an imminent nuclear-bomb-attack-style siren to ensure that they will wake up? Can’t it be toned down a bit? Eventually when that sound is really necessary, people are going to ignore it. I think it’s a mistake to at least not look at options on the best way to operate this system. I am absolutely for doing everything necessary to save a child, but I’m just asking if what we have here is what is necessary?

  4. Keep the Amber Alert system going and God hope you complainers never need it... the rest of us might not like being woken up for you

  5. I was awakened out of a deep sleep with the sound thinking it was a fire alarm, or maybe my phone, I scrambled for my phone dropped it, I was very groggy and foggy BUT as soon as I realized the noise I was hearing was an amber alert I was sad that somewhere a family was in crisis and hopes that anyone out and about might see this vehicle. My point is that even though I was so out of it I wouldn’t have been able to fight my way out of a paper bag I could care less that I was awakened. Shame on people for taking issue with this process. If you complain or wish to “opt out” you SUCK!

  6. Never apologize for doing everything possible to locate missing vulnerable people . The system is in place for this reason and thank goodness it worked once again !

  7. Stop apologizing for doing everything necessary to help bring someone’s loved one home safely. It clearly works, just go back to sleep. Someone’s life is more important than you getting 8hrs of uninterrupted sleep.

  8. Driving while tired is impaired driving right? Now theres a bunch of impred drivers on ontario roads this morning. Give me the damn option to op-out mann I driving for a living, this Amber Alert just turned me into an impaired driver!!! I'm scared to go into work today I need to opt out!!! Pleace be reasonable!! . Like wtf, safety of another trumps the safety of another ?

  9. No need to apologize for anything when it come to kids waking up in the middle of the night or anytime of the night shouldn't matter here. The once that's complaining don't have kids or don't care. If these people had kids they wouldn't complain about kids here.

  10. @sarahz911 I think its much more likely they said that because it fits their narrative that the current Amber Alert system is a wonderful success, when really there's a number of issues with it
