I wish I could tell the girl on the left from 3 years ago that sometimes gaining 20 pounds isn’t a bad thing. That by gaining weight she’d grow some delts. That by gaining weight she would also gain a better relationship with food & balance. Trusting my coach, eating more and lifting heavy shit has built more self-confidence than anything else has my entire life. I wish I could tell myself back then that she didn’t have to workout in a way she didn’t love just to feel comfortable in her own skin.

I haven’t done an “About Me” in over a year (memories told me) so I figured I’d go ahead & do a quick one for all new followers I have ! I began my weight loss journey in December of 2014. I lost my first 50 pounds pretty quickly, through Weight Watchers, the gym and started running. I ended up doing two Half Marathons in that first year as well (Major goal of mine) . 2016, I lost about 10 more and focused on maintaining my weight because I was busy planning and getting married  2017 got a little rough with medical issues and surgeries. I had major surgery to remove a gigantic cyst, my ovary, & Fallopian tubes. This put me out of the gym and any kind of physical activity for 4 months and during that time I lost my focus and motivation. By January of 2018, I was up about 30 pounds from the 60 I had lost.  I was discouraged and disappointed in myself but I knew I wasn’t completely back to the start and I knew what I had to do. I worked my ass of in all of 2018, and despite another surgery and getting a hernia, I lost my 30 pounds plus 30 more, reaching my original goal ever of losing 100 pounds. This year, 2019, I’ve been focusing on maintaining and finding a balance in life of enjoying myself but still staying healthy and fit.  And now my newest goal is to run a FULL Marathon. I love powerlifting but I prefer bodybuilding shit. Every two weeks I max out to see how much I can lift, 225lb is my number🤷‍️ , I know I can get better if I practice more often, but I cannot have the best of both worlds.

Let’s be honest, keeping yourself accountable is hard. There’s always going to be an excuse or something you’d rather spend your time doing. Sometimes it’s not motivation that gets you through, it’s discipline and reminding yourself WHY your doing it in the first place.

If your WHY isn’t strong enough and you don’t believe in it, then you will never keep yourself accountable 🤷‍️

Deceleration Lunge (absorb the force and spring back up)
In/Out Ladder into Spin
In/Out Ladder into Backwards jog
Shuttle Runs (focus on deceleration and pushing off injured leg)
Combination of single leg drop/jump, sideways hurdles & then pushing off the weaker leg into a sprint. (Move the boxes to the opposite side to then do the drops on the right leg)
Skater Jumps onto Box w Power Band
Box Jumps

You know, the typical-chicken, fish, limited carbs, and sugar in moderation. That was me on the left. I meal prepped weekly, I hit the gym six days a week, with no real plan. I joined a program at the gym so that I didn’t have to think about making a plan. I tried to eat “healthy”, and paid to work with a personal trainer once a week. While I enjoyed the program, and enjoyed the one on one with my trainers, these options did not get me any closer to my goals. You see, in most states, personal trainers are not allowed to give out a meal plan, or actually tell you what to eat. This was the most difficult part, because during that time, I didn’t know that nutrition is 80% of the process. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now, I follow a plan each week, I track my food-and meet my macros daily (and eat carbs! ), I’m aware of my water intake, how much sleep I need to recover, and I don’t over train my body. I’m seeing results I have never seen before, I’m learning about my body and setting my life up for nutritional habits that are sustainable. It is work, and requires dedication and yes, sometimes I mess up. That’s okay. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ok. Here are my 4 week progress photos. I see a change in my face the most. Everything else not so much. I know if I pay attention more to what I'm eating that I can start making more progress. But even though I'm not seeing a big difference, I do feel a difference. So that's a plus.

Ummm what?! The picture from April 9th was when I first decided to change things up health wise and as I continued to research things to see what worked for me, I decided to bulk shortly after on May 2. All I wanted was to finally see changes or results in my body and learn to do this in the smartest and healthiest way possible.  It seems like just yesterday that I decided to really grab ahold of my health and develop it for the better. I finally thru the excuses away, finally stopped saying “I need to get on a diet,” I finally developed consistency, I finally developed patience, I finally developed endurance, I finally took charge, I finally did it! Finally... I know I can do better, be better, and feel better. That’s all it takes? Why did I wait so long  We all have the ability to mold ourselves physically and mentally. All you have to do is choose to love yourself
