5 Steps to a Stronger, Leaner and more Confident You.

A major obstacle for most on a fat loss journey is that they don’t know where to start when it comes to their fitness journey. Here is a simple 5 step guide to starting your own fitness journey and becoming a stronger, leaner and more confident version of yourself.

1.	Starting working out 3-5 days a week for 45 mins to 1 hour and do 2 upper body workouts and 2 lower body workouts each week.

2.	Eat 3 portion sized meals a day with 1 protein based snack.

3.	Move more each day. (Aim for 10k steps)

4.	Eat protein and lots of veg in every meal.

5.	Limit treats to under 1000 calories a week or 150 cals per day.

If you start adopting those 5 steps you will start seeing results. Changing your quality of life and becoming a stronger, fitter, leaner and more confident version of yourself should not be complicated.

By implementing simple strategies on a consistent basis, you can start making life changing results.

In today's world we are all surrounded by stress. From the time we open our eyes till the time we fall asleep. We are constantly hit with events that automatically trigger us and send our stress levels (cortisol) through the roof. One way of releasing the cortisol levels is through exercise. Below are a few ways I find that help me through the day.. ️ Meditation- a great app I use called headspace. Take 5-10 mins each day to relax and bring your body and mind together and you will feel great. ️ Exercise - This doesn't have to be hours spent in the gym or running the roads. A 20 minute workout 3 times a week will be enough to increase your heart rate and lower your cortisol levels. ️ Be present - Alot of you will think you are already present. But think about it, how many times have you walked into the kitchen and forgot what you went in for? When your driving along the road do you actually think of the journey you are on or do you arrive at your destination and think 'that was quick' or we're here already'.  Deep breathing - Any time your feeling anxious and stressed, take 2-3 mins and focus on your breathing. Take a deep breathe in through the nose hold for a second and a big breathe out through the mouth. After a few minutes your stress levels will have decreased and you will feel better..  Listen to music - Music is by far the most underrated and undervalued feel good factor. No matter how down or stressed you are feeling stick on your favourite tunes turn the volume up and sing as loud as you can. ️ Get outside - Take a walk outside get some fresh air. Listen to the noises feel the wind against your skin. Enjoy the sunshine and soak up all the vitamin D and most of all enjoy it.

Both high and low rep ranges should be utilized effectively to produce the greatest overall outcome when it comes to building muscle.

To begin, low rep ranges are used to build strength. When it comes to building strength, you are moving heavy weight for lower repetitions. This is how you get stronger. In doing so, you active your type 2 muscle fibers (fast twitch), which are used to generate short bursts of energy. These muscle fibers fire more rapidly than type 1 muscle fibers (slow twitch). Strength is the number 1 factor to any fitness goal in the gym and this is why a low rep range MUST be used.

On the other hand, high repetitions (15+) are optimal for endurance training. Endurance training is the act of withstanding constant repetition under load. Endurance training activates type 1 muscle fibers (slow twitch), which are more efficient at using oxygen to generate continuous fuel (ATP). Training with high reps also works to increase blood flow and lactic acid buildup which is HUGE for muscle growth. This is best accomplished through isolation exercises where you can target one specific muscle group.

This has been the motto for a few weeks now. I try pushing myself as hard as I can, when I can. Don't want to use being tired as an excuse to neglect my physical health. Last night, I headed to the gym after work. Cut my session short 'cause it got late + I still had to make dinner🤷‍️. Pictured is the 1st gym selfie I took in Chicago joining an all women's gym. Meet @poojasharma2691 , director @dancepeoplebangalore , choreographer and full time belly-dancer. 
When you've got only 24 hours in a day, it sometimes becomes difficult to manage all your activities 
and still get a good night's rest with enough fuel for your body to burn. And, if you don't have adequate rest and nutrition, stress levels in the body & mind tend to fizzle out of control, leading to adding more fuel than what the body usually needs. 
However, when you make up your mind to make a change, other things soon start follow! And,  thus started Pooja's journey to get her temple back in shape. In only a few months, her dedication, perseverance and the right guidance have helped her achieve her goal, and the results tend to speak for themself! As her fitness improved, so did her energy and passion to make the most of her busy day and still squeeze some fun out of it!

Pooja's aspiration to better herself has opened new doors of opportunities and pushed her to work harder than ever before. By taking these positive steps, she is able to create a balanced and fulfilling approach towards fitness, passion and play.

I have been loving this, as going to bed earlier and waking up earlier has been helping me fall asleep because I am actually tired.

Rising at this time, is so tranquil as it feels as if the world is still asleep. Take advantage of this and prepare yourself by starting your morning right for a productive day and week!!

I have been listening to audiobooks when I get ready / eat breakfast so start my day off on a positive note. This multitasking activity has also greatly been improving my time management skills, efficiency, and happiness overall.

From the book, The 5am Club by @robinsharma the quote,  The poor invest in money, the rich invest in time, has really spoken to me. We have one life, so we need to maximize our time instead of wasting it sleeping in or on materialistic items. Too many of us die at 30 and are buried at 80. And I don't want to be one of them.
