Es importante dejarnos sentir, sin juzgarnos, sin sentir culpa o vergüenza. Nuestras emociones son parte de nosotros, es lo que nos hace humanos y cada una tiene su función. Las emociones son transitorias, si permitimos que estas lleguen, se muestren, tengan su pico y así mismo tendrán su caída y bajará la intensidad.

Parte de nuestra salud mental y emocional se basa en el dejarnos sentir, en el conectar con nuestras emociones, no reprimirlas. Reprimir no es sinónimo de eliminar, cuando reprimo, esa emoción se aloja en mi cuerpo y luego el cuerpo habla con malestares y enfermedades.

A tutor from the course I was on recently asked us this simple question -  What does being healthy mean?? 🤷‍️ & It really got me thinking 🤔 .
Being healthy can mean something so different to each of us.. but for me being healthy is being sound of mind body and soul. Healthy body - Healthy Mind. Being mentally happy and physically functional. .
I got into fitness simply because of my mental health. It helps me stay strong and keeps my thoughts stay on track & now I absolutely love it.

New challenges to set - New things to try - working out doesn’t have to be boring at all - you just have to find what you enjoy!

Today I trained upper body with a small dose of Cardio and finished with some headstand Practise

The Root Chakra or Muladhara Chakra  is located at the base of the spine in the pelvic floor muscles. It is the chakra of stability, safety, and fulfillment of basic needs. It is the base of the entire chakra system and is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability (food, water, a safe place to live). It is the starting point of our development, based on instincts and survival, the first task we undertake upon birth.⠀

Imbalances lie in anxieties, fears, and nightmares as well as directly impacted from trauma. It can manifest in problems of elimination (the colon and bladder). It is also associated with the adrenal glands, colon, kidneys, skeleton/bones, and muscles.⠀
⠀
Symptoms of blockage include: anxiety disorders, fear, panic attacks, worry, overthinking, depression, nightmares, emotionally disconnected, disconnected from the body, anger/rage,  lethargic and physically drained, problems in the colon, with the bladder, with elimination, or with lower back, Inflammation, and cramps. In men, prostate problems may occur. Eating disorders may also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance.⠀

Do you ever feel a tug-o-war between self-care and relationship care? Does it feel hard to tell when you’re being self-centered or engaging in self-care? I know I feel this way sometimes. That’s because engaging in self-care and being other-centered requires mindfulness. It has more to do with awareness of self and others and less to do with time maximization and management. Although awareness of time is important, I find that it’s over-focused on because people want some sort of control. But the truth is, self-care and other-centered approaches to life are dynamic and always changing. We have to flex with it. This means being in tune with and mindful of ourselves and others is key. When “how we are” is the focus, rigid rules on how we allocate our time become secondary (like...if 3 hours every morning for a self-care routine is making your life unmanageable then it’s not self-care). We tend toward rigid rules bc rules means we can let ourselves off the hook for not checking in with ourselves and others. We can let ourselves off the hook bc “it is the way it is right now and there’s nothing I can do.” Sometimes that line is pure BS. When we aren’t checking in, we are clashing with the most natural force in life: flow and the change that results from it. What does this mean? Yes - you have to choose between mindful and mindless living. I am not a believer that suffering is optional. But I do believe you can choose how you suffer and what you suffer for. When you suffer for your values - learning how to engage in self-care whole being other-centered in intuitive ways - you hit the pillow at night feeling fulfilled, dignified, with integrity, and in connection to others and the world. When you suffer in the name of mindless living, you are more likely to feel restless, irritable, discontent, resentful, and you have a special ability to point out all that’s wrong with yourself, others, and your circumstances. You have to flex with life WHILE being cognizant of your values. Flexing is hard bc you have to check-in. The best part of this is - the choice is yours! Happy choosing

I also have a vision of where I want to be and the ambition to get me there but it can lead to burnout 🥵 But I’m learning the word BALANCE and what that looks like in my own life. 🧘‍️⁣

The theme of this group art work was “A Rainy Day” and it was made by a group of 4 and 5 year olds! My job was simply to guide them, teach them a few basic skills and provide encouragement! After they painted the background, the kids made the little ducks by tearing out paper shapes for the bodies and sticking them onto the canvas with glue. The umbrellas were made by cutting paper cupcake baking cases in half and painting them with bright rainbow colours. Easy and fun! The whole artwork was made in a couple of hours and the children also got to work on developing their teamwork skills

This is another example of why we should speak up more. Why we should express our boundaries and share our needs and thoughts. And the more we do it, the easier it is for everyone to share it from a compassionate space, and others to receive it like so.

The more we can express ourselves in the moment, the less frustration and anger building up.

Do you know what floatation therapy in a deprivation tank is? This is exactly what I did yesterday for the first time in my life. I love to try new things especially if it makes me healthier and happier. So, what it looks like is... 60 minutes I was freely floating on the surface of concentrated Epsom salt water in the closed tank. There was an option to have a little bit of light and relaxing music, but to fully experience all the benefits of floatation therapy I chose to be in absolute darkness and soundless conditions. I concentrated on my body sensations, mind work and emotions. 
Not sure if I can describe in words what I felt. It was weird, it was strange, it was relaxing and absolutely amazing all at the same time. At some point I lost the sense of time, space and objective reality. The outside world disappeared. I was alone inside myself and plunged into an indescribable state of complete detachment. It felt like I was falling asleep but I wasn’t. 
This hour in the tank felt like 20 minutes. After the floatation I felt profoundly relaxed, peaceful, rejuvenated, free of any stress or worries, refocused and in a great connection with my inner-self.  I definitely want to do it regularly!

Focussing our attention is a wild act of love. And like all sustainable wild acts of love, it seems to require practice to develop and deepen it.
My ability to focus my attention is at its most crisp when I’m in connection with others, and at its most scattered when I’m focussing on something alone. 
The mind is a wondering wild thang. And like all wild thangs, say elephants, they can be trained to be super obedient and useful, for us, to focus on the task they are needed for - picking a bit of wood up, writing a message, doing a lame task or, elephants most epic skill, listening deeply to another. 
Lately, I’ve realised how a lot of my own challenges of feeling disconnected, scattered or distracted are probably largely due to my untrained mind. 
Time to get back into dedicated daily meditation practice with the intention of getting my mind closer and closer to the object, breathe, and therefore closer to what’s alive and here in my life. 
Started today, 15 mins of practice then 15 mins of study. 
Will let you know how I go, unless I get distracted...  My practice: ‘Concentration Meditation’ Mahamudra teaching known as the Elephant Path. I got taught Dan Brown’s teaching of this a few months ago. It’s detailed in his book “Pointing out the great way”. I like it because it breaks the meditation down into really focussed steps!
