Although you can’t tell by my face, I’m buzzing to be back at it  Since the injury to my shoulder I have had a lot of questions about my job and if it has affected my ability to train my clients? 
The honest answer is no. It has actually enabled me to be a better coach, my downtime in between clients has been very much about expanding my knowledge, refining my technique and this can only a better experience for everyone.

That being said however, what I have struggled with, is the mental aspect to not being able to train myself. The negative self talk, doubting my  ability to bounce back, and importantly for me, not getting that endorphin hit after a really good session, have all popped into my head.

But I have also accepted I must, like my clients, trust the process and commit to it 100% to get where I need to be. (As the saying goes in UFit ‘Dedication & Direction = Results)

I can still deliver my best when coaching clients, and maybe now that I can lift some weight (albeit a lot lighter than usual), they might even see more of a smile on my face when I do

It looks like personal days for everyone!! You know what's best for you deep down, always follow that.  But, if this does resonate...I strongly suggest you also take a day to unwind. Recharge your batteries.  Rest.

Don't try to keep going if you know you may need this time too. Think of it like calling a timeout. You're in some kind of safe zone. Progress will just wait for you. .

Hey guys! It's officially school holidays where I live and I'm sooo happy about it because it gives me heaps of extra time to make and try out news recipes like these loaded Weet-Bix brownies by @betterbeingsteph 

I've mentioned this before, but I really don't bake things like these enough because I simply don't have the time. During the school terms I'm constantly busy and never seem to have any spare time up my sleeve, so I think you can tell that I'm incredibly excited to be trying out as many new recipes as possible these school holidays.

As for the brownies, while they don't look anywhere near as good as the original made by @betterbeingsteph they still tasted super delicious and I can't wait to try out more of her recipes. If you aren't following her already then please do yourself a favour and go check out her account because I swear everything she makes looks like heaven!

Sporty not skinny. - Hätte mir jemand vor sechs Monaten gesagt, dass ich x Kilo mehr wiege und dabei so fit bin, wie noch nie zuvor in meinem Leben, hätte ich die Person vermutlich ungläubig ausgelacht...
Ich war nie besonders sportlich und hatte auch nicht den Anspruch, abgesehen von ein paar Phasen während der Essstörung, in denen ich exzessiv Sport getrieben habe, um noch dünner zu werden. Natürlich nur Ausdauer, denn Muskelaufbau hätte ja mehr Gewicht bedeutet. Spaß am Sport? Fehlanzeige. Ganz im Gegenteil: Aufgrund der Mangelernährung war das Ganze sogar eine ziemlich riskante Nummer.
Zugleich dachte ich, dass richtig sportliche Menschen immer super dünn sein müssten.

Mit Beginn meiner Genesung habe ich mit Kraftsport angefangen (mittlerweile mache ich auch wieder etwas mehr Cardio). Mein Gedanke damals: Wenn ich schon zunehmen muss, dann wenigstens definiert. So richtig aufgegangen ist mein Plan nicht: Ich sehe zwar trainierter aus als vorher, aber bin definitiv keine Instagram-Fitspo. Muss ich auch nicht sein, denn stattdessen ist etwas anderes mit mir passiert: Ich bin selbstbewusster, mental und physisch stärker sowie ausgeglichener geworden. Ich mache Sport, weil er mir Spaß macht und er mir gut tut. Und weil er mir dabei hilft einen entspannten Umgang mit meinem Körper zu entwickeln unabhängig von Eiweißdiäten, Schlankheitswahn und Selbstoptimierungszwang.

Ich weiß, dass Sport treiben nach einer Essstörung auch problematisch werden kann (Stichwort: Suchtverschiebung), für mich war es aber einfach der richtige Weg. Ich habe mich allerdings auch von Anfang an an feste Regeln gehalten, z.b. dass ich nicht öfter als alle zwei Tage und pro Einheit nicht länger als 90 Minuten Sport treibe.

Monday.

Today is the the day I make some changes.

I have a chronic illness (still waiting on an official diagnosis but it’s looking like it will be M.E) & I have been in a flare since mid May. I have rested, I have taken my painkillers & I have taken on the advice of my doctor & I am still suffering.

I need some routine & structure in my day so I am stepping back into the #teamTomm method with the hope that by pushing myself a little each day I can get back on the road to recovery & get myself back to work.

I have my list ready & while I hope to manage it all I will be taking it steady.

Massive shout out to @rapdadthebeast for hooking me up with a post fight cyrotherapy session today. My usual post comp recover consists of a float @peaceinapodperth and massage to get all the aches and pains freed up but today went down to @chillchamberperth for a cyrotherapy session and im lost for words.I found out a whole heap of new informatuon on the benifits  from 1 cyrotherapy session and how it compares to the likes of ice baths. 1, 3 minute session can be the equivilent of a 30 min ice bath for increase of blood flow and removes toxins and lactic acid that the body has stored. Its great for weight loss as it  tricks your body into thinking its freezing which increases your bodys metabolism to keep your normal core temperature.
