New @alo.moves class just dropped! Pre-Workout: Upper Body. This class is great for prepping the body with dynamic movements getting into fascia as well as targeting specific muscles so that your workouts (even yoga classes) are optimized and/or injury prevention #sponsored .

Keeping those pesky hips flexible can also help prevent lower back pain or injury on the mat. 🧘‍️ In this challenge we will share various types of asanas to improve outer and inner hip mobility, at the same time being mindful of each breath.

the strength and power of throat chakra lies in our ability to know who we are and assert the same publicly. 
here is where we address unresolved karmas, negative actions, negative thoughts, hurtful thoughts, words or deeds that we have directed towards our self, thinking that we are unworthy, thinking that we are not good enough.
here is where we have the opportunity to heal and to see ourselves, as we really are, to see ourselves as a holy being, a holy precious being, able to bring happiness to others, able to bring liberation to others.

Benefits: Blockages are removed, flow of breath and brain hemispheres becomes more balanced & calms the nervous system. Improves concentration, relieves anxiety, and leads to profound relaxation. .

This is a great practice in the am/pm -- and as a gateway into meditation, by inducing the single pointed, slow and steady focus of the breath. .
.
The practice: Eyes are closed. Jaw/face/shoulders/body = relaxed. Always start and end the practice with the left nasal breathing. Sit upright in easy pose, or in a chair. Spine tall, shoulders relaxed, chin to the horizon. Bring your right arm up, and thumb to close your right nasal passage.PT 1)  Take 5 steady, even breaths (1:1ratio)  in and out the left nasal passage, switch and repeat on the right. PT2) Inhale through left nasal -plug, then exhale out the right nasal passage. Inhale right -plug, exhale left and continue with that even steady flow for up to 10minutes. .

*Advanced technique, double the length of the exhale to the inhale (1:2 ratio) Or add in breath retention -- in between breaths -- and after the exhalation -- (4:4:4:4) for example. .
After the practice, pause and notice how you feel. Enjoy. .

From a recent read, The Inquiring Mind's Journey into Wisdom, Compassion, Freedom and Silence by Bhante Kovida, here is a beautiful Tibetan meditation on the sky-like quality of the mind...

The mind is like the sky.  The drifting clouds are like our changing thoughts and ideas.  The grey, dark clouds and wind are like our emotions and moods.  The thunder and lightening are like our anger and temper.  The falling rain like our sadness, sorrow and tears.  But above the ever-changing clouds and weather is the clear, blue sky.  Similarly, above our constantly changing mental states is awareness, mindfulness - clear, vast and peaceful.  The sky is clear and unaffected by what is happening.  The clouds and wind come and go.  So does the rain and sunlight.  But the sky remains clear, vast and peaceful.  See the mind as the clear blue sky or the night sky filled with stars.  And let everything arise and pass away, come and go on its own.  Then the mind will stay balanced, peaceful and free, observing the flow of events and our temporary mental stress.  Such is the nature of awareness, mindfulness - calm, bare attention.

陰ヨガの勉強をしはじめる今から4,5年前

ヨガ歴はその頃、4年くらい。
色々なレッスンを取る事は、自分の性格であまりせず、好きな先生を見つけて、その先生のレッスンをとり続けるというわたしスタイル。

ある新しい土地に引っ越してから新しいヨガスタジオ探しをなんとなーくしていました。どこのスタジオも数回〜1ヶ月お試し期間があり

新しく住むカナダ、オタワであるヨガスタジオの1ヶ月フリーパスを利用。そのときのフロントのお姉さんがわたしの好みから、オススメのクラスを何個か教えてくれて

そこで初めて“陰ヨガ”に出会いました

そこでこの独特のスタイル“陰ヨガ”をみつけてからは週3回レッスンをとり続けました

オタワの冬-20℃にもなります。最高気温-10℃って🤯

真冬でなくても、わたし陰ヨガのこと、そのときの先生たちのこと好きになってたと思います

その時も、今も、これからも️ 陰ヨガの時間は自分にとって、とっても大切な時間です

Yoga gives me inner strength @_itsjustnoah

What did I do this summer ?
I didn't do half of the things I wish I had, for obvious reasons. However watching the birds in.my garden this morning, I realised that even with a bad back, few setbacks, and a life on hold for the last two years, I've strangely and unexpectedly kept a positive mind. A feeling of joy in living seems to be the new normal even. (oh ! and yes I took a lot of drugs but I'm off them now). Anyway, I'm going to list some of the things I did this summer because I'm glad I was able to do them, and also because right now -and for the next weeks- I'm back on my cosy/bed/coach/anything I can lie on all day long. I am bored !
First, I spent many hours upside-down, practicing the elusive pincha.

A large part of why I studied massage therapy was to create a safe space for others to unravel a lifetime of emotion, trauma, and pain.

This work is deeply healing.

As a true believer that bodywork can assist the healing process in a very magical way, part of my work is to educate for the greater good.

Therapeutic Massage is:
- intentional, non-sexual, touch
- meant to offer health benefits
- when a therapist and client have a shared goal of achieving structural and observable changes in the body, mind, and spirit
- physical, non-sexual, stimulation of the body’s nerve endings and musculoskeletal make-up
- invigorating, stress-relieving, and restorative
- a sacred space to feel safe and supported in working through your unique life’s journey

Healing touch is deeply needed in our society, and therapeutic massage is an opportunity to shift the paradigm of what that means and looks like

This wasn’t easy. Yes, my base is super strong, but a great deal of responsibility for my face not planting into the earth was up to me. 
It’s those times in life when you have no other choice but to draw your shoulders back believe that you are stronger than your fears. Those fears are just lies you’ve been telling your sweet soul for who knows how long. 
Rise above the monkey mind, the chatter, the garbage, the self sabotaging thoughts and just DO IT.
